The art of Bengal’s iconic kasha, or bellmetal, has been handed down from one artisan to another for generations. Made from an alloy of copper and tin, it is a handcrafted masterpiece by the local carftsmen of Burdwan and Murshidabad, used throughout the ages for it’s anti-inflammatory, antiseptic qualities. Various forms of kasha ware are used for a multitude of traditional and religious funcions. Created with the time honoured methods of kasha production, we are excited to introduce byloom’s newest pieces, the padma thala, made with the aim of reviving the traditons that make our Bengal
